The winning tickets were sold in Quebec and Alberta, as confirmed by provincial lottery authorities on Wednesday morning. This significant prize comes after several previous draws failed to produce a winner, allowing the jackpot to grow to a remarkable $80 million.
Excitement in Quebec as Jackpot Returns
The jackpot was initially set at $80 million after going unclaimed in previous draws. “The very first $80-million jackpot was partly won in Québec in September. We’re thrilled to learn that it was won here again,” said Isabelle Jean, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Lottery Games at Loto-Québec, in a statement. “What wonderful news just before the holidays!”

In addition to the $80-million jackpot, there were approximately 29 Maxmillion prizes, each worth $1 million, available in Tuesday’s draw. In Ontario, nearly 665,000 Lotto Max tickets won prizes, with the largest being five $1-million Maxmillion tickets.
